Shandys is a small Reg’d Kennel that was started in 1989 with our first cocker “Brandy”. She was a buff 6 month old firecracker when we got her. After taking her to Obedience lessons we were hooked. That was the beginning! Since then we have had 11 titled Obedience dogs. We now breed Parti coloured Cockers and Black & Tan. Shandys is also home to the #5 Cocker in Canada for Obedience in 2000, the #1 Cocker in Canada in Obedience in 2006 and the #3 Cocker for Obedience in 2007, #3 Cocker in Obedience 2011, #5 Cocker for Obedience 2013, and in 2014 #5 Rally Dog. We are very proud of our dogs. Its been a lot of hard work, but well worth it.
We have kept a beautiful pup from our 2008 litter. His name is Wesley “Shandys Autumn Rush”, and has attained his Conformation title in 2011. This marks the first time we have competed in Conformation. As of March 2017 Wesley has earned 2 obedience titles and 4 Rally titles.
“Storm” CH Shandys Unforgettable Storm. She is from the first Litter from Chaps “Calowa New Begining At Shandys PCD,CD,RI, RA,RE. and McLean “Shalybon Truly Incredible Kool. Storm is currently working on her CDX and we are doing aglilty and loving it!!
Java” Ashleysown Canadian Shandys. Janet has taken over obedience training with her and she is doing great so far. She obtained her PCD June 2018, CD and her RN in one weekend, Sept 3rd 2019. Also entered her first UKC confirmation show and has her UKC Championship.
“Tazer” Shandys Storm Warning. Tazer is out of Storm and Jazzy’s first litter. He has his CKC Championship and his UKC Championship, He obtained both titles in 2019. John has started obedience training with him and he is doing great so far.
The newest member of our Shandys Team is Cocoa. She is a puppy from the Nigel and Java Breeding of 2020.
We are life members with the Canadian Kennel Club and Hamilton Dog Obedience Club.
